Minister of Energy: electricity production in the country to meet 100% demand in 2024

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov said that in 2024, electricity production in the country will meet 100% demand, even during peak loads.

According to the minister, the Ministry of Energy’s task is to meet the demand for electricity by 100%, and this result will be achieved during 2024.

Mirzamakhmudov in an interview with the project “O’zi Nima Gap?” of the journalist Aziza Kurbonova also emphasized that this year there were no restrictions in energy supply, and work is underway to prepare for the summer season.

He noted an increase in electricity consumption in the summer due to the use of air conditioners and an increase in the number of apartment buildings, but added that the newly launched capacity will fully satisfy demand in the summer.

The minister acknowledged that force majeure, such as a power grid failure or malfunction, is possible, but assured that in terms of generation, the country will be able to cover 100% of its domestic electricity needs from next year.
