Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 9 June, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant-General Bakhodir Kurbanov, received a delegation visiting our country, headed by Deputy Prime Minister of Qatar - Minister of Defense Khalid bin Muhammad al-Atiyah.

First, an official meeting of the guests took place with the participation of the guard of honor. The military band played the national anthems of the two countries.

At a meeting on bilateral cooperation held at the central office of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Bakhodir Kurbanov welcomed his Qatari counterpart on a visit to Uzbekistan, and emphasized that the friendly relations established between the two countries in recent years have been rapidly developing and have entered a new historical stage.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed topical issues of international politics and the regional agenda, the current state of cooperation in the field of security and defense, and prospects for its development.

The defense ministers of the two countries also exchanged views on promising areas of cooperation in the military sphere.
