Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The International Institute of Central Asia (MICA), during an expert conference on the topic “Central Asia - European Union: a new agenda for security cooperation,” hosted a meeting with the director of the Institute’s Center for Strategic Studies International Relations (SSIR) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Shiri Shiriev.

The Director of the Center emphasized the importance of holding an expert conference on security, especially noting that one of the priority tasks of cooperation between analytical centers of the Central Asian countries and the EU is the exchange of views on regional security issues.

During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on priority areas of partnerships and deepening interaction in accordance with the Cooperation Agreement between MICA and the SSIR of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, including mutual visits, organization of joint conferences, round tables and seminars.

In addition, issues of holding an Uzbek-Turkmen conference in Tashkent dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi were discussed.

In this regard, Sh. Shiriyev noted with satisfaction that Uzbekistan attaches great importance to the celebration of the anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and thinker, as evidenced by the adoption in February of this year. special Resolution of the President of Uzbekistan Sh.M.
