Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Director of the International Institute of Central Asia (MICA) Javlon Vakhabov held a meeting with the Director of the Representative Office of the Korean International Cooperation Agency in Uzbekistan, Shin Myung Seop.

During the meeting, the parties emphasized that the activities of KOICA in Uzbekistan are one of the clear examples of increasing multifaceted cooperation between Korea and Uzbekistan.

KOICA implements various programs aimed, inter alia, at improving education, healthcare, public administration and promoting green development of the country.

As noted during the negotiations, during the period of its activity, the representative office invited more than 2,100 trainees to Korea to participate in training programs to develop technical skills and knowledge in various fields.

At the end of the meeting, the parties noted that this meeting was the beginning of relations between KOICA and MICA and expressed hope for further expansion of cooperation between organizations in priority areas.

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) was established in 1991 by the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a government official development assistance (ODA) organization.
