Metallurgy training for Uzbek citizens to be established in Sverdlovsk region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan, headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Erkin Khamraev, held negotiations with the Governor of Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuyvashev.

At the meeting, the initiative of the Pervural Metallurgical College to implement a pilot project to train personnel from among students of Uzbekistan from 2025 was discussed.

The governor of Sverdlovsk region noted that the training will be organized in a targeted recruitment format with funding from regional industrial enterprises. Students will study for the first two to three years at a partner college in Uzbekistan, and the final stage will take place in Pervouralsk.

The college confirmed its readiness to implement a pilot project and begin training students from Uzbekistan in 2025. This model will make it possible to create a system of legal, safe and high-quality training in in-demand professions with a guarantee of employment, the governor added.

Governor Kuyvashev recalled that such projects are already being successfully implemented, such as the opening of the joint medical faculty of the Ural State Medical University and Namangan State University in 2019. The first graduates of this faculty will receive diplomas from the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan in June of this year.

In addition, the governor expressed interest in continuing cooperation with Uzbekistan in the industrial sphere, noting the growth in exports of metallurgical and mechanical engineering products. The supply of equipment for the energy and mining complex of Uzbekistan has increased significantly over the past few years.

Evgeny Kuyvashev also noted the popularity of Uzbek textiles and dishes among residents of the Sverdlovsk region. In 2023, representatives of Sverdlovsk enterprises in the light industry and fashion industry visited the regions of Uzbekistan to discuss the purchase of fabrics and finished products, as well as placing orders for tailoring.

Erkin Khamraev thanked the governor of the Sverdlovsk region for supporting the projects and expressed confidence in further fruitful cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, Evgeny Kuyvashev invited the Uzbek delegation to take part in a number of events, including the largest industrial exhibition in Russia INNOPROM-2024 and the International Fashion Week Uf Lab.
