Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A meeting was held at the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change with representatives from the state-owned enterprise of the People’s Republic of China, Chengdu Environment Investment Group.

The meeting included a presentation on the ongoing waste management reforms in Uzbekistan, potential investment opportunities, and the incentives offered to investors.

Chen Xien, General Director of the Chinese company, outlined the prospective plans for implementation in Uzbekistan and expressed interest in the operation of waste treatment facilities and landfills intended for waste transportation.

Additionally, the guests were introduced to the activities of the Situational Center at the Ministry of Ecology, the Republican Center for Sanitary Cleaning Organization, and the Waste Management Directorate.

The visit concluded with a presentation from the Chengdu Environment Investment Group’s companies, Chengdu Xingrong Renewable Energy Co., Ltd., and Chengdu Shiny Technology Co., Ltd., with which a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to collaborate on developing and implementing waste-to-energy projects in Uzbekistan.
