Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 20 September 2024, Omanullo Nasritdinhodjaev, the First Deputy Minister of Mining and Geology of Uzbekistan, met with Joachim Fritz, head of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Uzbekistan, and Karolina Milow, head of the "Green Central Asia" program.
During the meeting, the parties discussed progress made in the rational use of water resources in Uzbekistan, including the establishment of a state water cadastre and the development of a regional information system for groundwater, waterbase.uz.
It was noted that these projects contribute to climate change adaptation and the protection of water resources.
The parties signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at further cooperation and the implementation of joint projects in the field of groundwater.
This collaboration will strengthen interaction between Uzbekistan and Germany in the area of water resource protection.
