Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan, meetings were held with a delegation of the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by the head of the department of external and multilateral relations of the Department for Afghanistan, Nicola Righini, Dunyo news agency reported.
During the negotiations, the main focus was on international cooperation in providing humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan and helping to restore the economy of this country.
British diplomats were informed about the key aspects of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy in Afghanistan and efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region.
Representatives of the British Foreign Office noted that London and Tashkent share a common vision and similar approaches to establishing long-term peace in Afghanistan.
The parties agreed to continue constructive interaction on Afghan issues and consolidate the efforts of the international community to normalize the situation in the neighboring country.
