Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 3 June 2025, a regular meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states took place.

The event focused on strengthening financial cooperation among SCO countries, ensuring economic stability, and exchanging expertise in financial policy.

Participants emphasized the key role of the SCO finance ministers and central bank governors’ meeting in maintaining regional economic and financial stability. Special attention was given to discussing financing mechanisms for projects within the Organization, including the initiative to establish the SCO Development Bank.

Uzbekistan’s representatives highlighted the importance of practical cooperation in coordinating macroeconomic policies and stressed the need to boost public-private partnerships and deepen collaboration in privatization to attract investment flows.

The participants also underscored the necessity of risk analysis and systemic assessment amid global economic instability, technological transformations, and climate challenges. In this context, the launch of a network of SCO financial and economic analytical centers was welcomed with approval.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint efforts to deepen financial cooperation within the SCO framework, promote mutual trade and investment, and ensure sustainable economic development in the region.
