Medallists of World Summer Universiade to get money prizes
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Medalists of the World Summer Universiade in Kazan, Russia, and their coaches will receive remunerations, the press center of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan (NOC) said.

According to the NOC, the gold medalists of the World Summer Universiade will receive 40 million soums (about US$19,110). Their coaches will be awarded with 20 million soums (about US$9,550).

The size of remuneration for the silver medal winners makes up 30 million soums (about US$14,330) and their coaches – 15 million soums (US$7,160).

Athletes, who claimed third places, will receive money prizes at the size of 20 million soums (about US$9,550) and their coaches – 10 million soums (about US$4,770).

About 55 athletes from Uzbekistan will participate at the 27th World Summer Universiade, which will be held on 6-17 July 2013.

Athletes from Uzbekistan will defend honour of Uzbekistan in such sports as boxing, belbog’li kurash, rhythmic gymnastics, canoe and rowing, judo, sambo, weightlifting and athletics, as well as freestyle and Greek-roman wrestling.

Over 10,500 athletes from 162 countries of the world will compete for 351 sets of medals on 27 types of sports.
