Uzbekistan plans to increase the volume of deposits of population and business entities by 2.5 times by 2015.

Central Bank of Uzbekistan, Agency for Development of Financial Sector with Germany's Savings Bank Foundation for International Corporation organized various events on development of savings and improving financial literacy of population in all regions of Uzbekistan.

The seminar was part of these events and it was attended by representatives the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, commercial banks, Uzbekistan Women’s Committee and Mahalla Foundation.

German experts shared their experience on savings of economy, which is a main source of internal investments as it ensures stable economic growth. German side also briefed participants about factors, which help to accumulate resources and issues, which the commercial banks should focus.

It was said that the banking system should pay attention to interest rates, taxation of interests, received from deposits, guarantees of deposits protection, right of consumers, etc.

The participants discussed issues of developing effective family budget, special family budget book and consultation of specialists on use of the book, financial services, development of new deposits for various group of clients.

The participants exchanged opinion with German experts on issues of saving deposits and analyzed issues of organization of effective saving, training employees of financial institutions, etc.
