Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 January, a working group headed by Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov and consisting of heads of industry associations, commercial banks and local authorities visited a number of districts of Khorezm region as part of the study and development of further measures to increase the export, investment and industrial potential of the regions.

In particular, the working group visited the enterprises of Khorezm insulation group LLC, Technopark, UzXCMG LLC, Eco Obi Hayot LLC, Urgench Kormmash LLC, Tillo Domor LLC, Khorezm Salt Business LLC, "Urgench Cluster" LLC. During the visit, the entrepreneurs shared their questions and proposals for further increasing the volume of industrial production. The relevant leaders were pointed out the lack of interaction with the business community and were instructed to take measures to support the project initiators as soon as possible.

In addition to field trips, the Working Group held meetings with representatives of the business community, where they analyzed the possibilities for the accelerated development of the industrial potential of the region, the expansion and consolidation of specific enterprises, the prospects for attracting local entrepreneurs to the implementation of new, high-margin projects developed by leading specialists of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade based on the use of geo-economic advantages of the region.

At a working meeting in the khokimiyat of the region, it was said that last year the region produced industrial products worth 17.8 trillion soums, export volumes amounted to more than US$271 million, and US$188 million of foreign direct investment was mastered. As part of the regional investment program, 730 projects raised US$276 million and created 17,500 new jobs.

Forecasts for 2023 are as follows. Thus, this year it is planned to produce industrial products worth 23.1 trillion soums, increase exports to US$330 million, as a result of attracting investments in the amount of US$811.4 million in 2023, it is planned to implement 850 investment projects in the Khorezm region and create more than 20 500 new jobs.

The main emphasis in the work of the working group is on the development of additional measures to increase industrial production and exceed the planned indicators by expanding and increasing the capacity of existing enterprises, eliminating existing problems at facilities that do not operate at full capacity, and implementing additional investment projects. According to preliminary calculations, the developed measures will allow increasing the volume of industrial production by at least 112.8% by the end of 2023.

In working order, 6 project proposals for the creation of "Centers for the training of engineering specialists" at large industrial enterprises of the Khorezm region were also considered in detail.
