Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Presidential Resolution “On additional measures to further improve the drinking water supply and sewerage system” was adopted.

According to the Resolution, on the basis of Ozsuvtaminot JSC and the enterprises included in its composition, the following joint stock companies will be created in certain areas by 1 April 2024:

regional main water supply organizations;

regional drinking water supply organizations in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent.

From 1 January 2024:

tariffs for drinking water supply and wastewater disposal services are formed based on the amount of costs included in the cost of production, costs for system development, financial costs, taxes and other mandatory payments;

When designing new facilities and drinking water supply and sewerage systems under construction, a requirement is established to take into account the degree of complete coverage of the relevant territory.

According to the Resolution, in 2024-2026:

813 areas with hard-to-reach drinking water supply will be provided with drinking water;

124,693 households will be provided with drinking water networks up to the households themselves;

Drinking water supply will be established in 130 settlements through the registration of state social orders;

792,090 consumers will be provided with drinking water meters.

From 1 July 2024, as an experiment, drinking and wastewater supply in the cities of Kagan, Shirin, Yangier, Bekobod and Yangiyul will be transferred to the private sector on the basis of public-private partnership.
