Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential resolution "On measures to train medical personnel for the field of physical culture and sports, as well as to further improve the system of medical care for athletes" was adopted.
According to the resolution, from the 2024/2025 academic year:
at the Tashkent Medical Academy, the master programs "Sports doctor" and "Sports dietology (nutrition science)" are opened;
at the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute, the current parameters of the state order for admission to study in the specialty of the master’s program "Experimental and Sports Pharmacology" are increased by 2 times.
According to the resolution, it is planned to transform the medical department (direction of education "Medicine"), created at the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports, into the Chirchik branch of the Tashkent Medical Academy.
The branch trains personnel in sports medicine and other medical specialties (“General Medicine”, “Pharmaceuticals”, “Pediatrics”), and all types of medical institutions in the city of Chirchik are assigned to the Branch as a clinical training base.
As a model, the Chirchik sports cluster will be created for the comprehensive training of personnel in the field of sports.
Sports doctors, sports nutritionists and sports pharmacologists of state sports and educational institutions improve their qualifications at the Center for the Development of Professional Qualifications of Medical Workers in the prescribed manner free of charge.
Prior to the start of the 2024/2025 academic year, qualification requirements, curricula and programs of disciplines of the specialties "70910233-Sports Medicine" and "70910401-Hygiene: Nutrition" will be approved.
According to the resolution, regional branches of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Sports Medicine will be created in the cities of Nukus, Andijan, Bukhara and Samarkand.
Since the 2024/2025 academic year, the development of curricula and methodological manuals in the field of sports medicine has been carried out with the direct participation of the Center.
