Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, representatives of the International Judo Federation, headed by the President of the Organization Marius Vizer, visited the Ministry of Sports Development. The delegation was met by Minister Adkham Ikramov.
The parties held a meeting dedicated to new plans for friendly relations. The event was attended by NOC Secretary General Oybek Kasimov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee, head of the country’s Judo Federation Azizjon Kamilov.
The honored foreign guest noted that Uzbekistan is preparing at a high level for the upcoming world championship, which will be held in our country for the first time, and the process is going excellently. In particular, he spoke positively about the conditions created for athletes and coaches, as well as for other members of delegations, representatives of foreign media, and the transport and logistics system.
In turn, Adkham Ikramov noted that the preparation for the prestigious tournament is under the control of the President and the Government, it is planned to show the whole world the potential of New Uzbekistan, holding it at a high level. He also stressed that judo is one of the favorite sports of the youth of our country, it is planned to involve representatives of the younger generation in sports more widely through such major competitions.
During the meeting, such promising issues as further strengthening of cooperation between the International Judo Federation and the Judo Federation of Uzbekistan, the regular organization of major competitions in our country, and increasing the popularity of judo among young people were discussed.
