Handicraft is part of life and culture of humanity and it is important part of intangible humanity heritage. Currently, there is sharp necessity in preserving traditional art handicraft, taking into account global trends in modernization and industrialization.
UNESCO office in Uzbekistan organized the training in cooperation of Hunarmand Association and Ferghana regional administration.
Some 25 young masters and designers from all regions of Uzbekistan are participating at the event, which is aimed at teaching young specialists in main techniques on dyeing, traditional embroidery, carpet weaving and design.
The training is directed at strengthening national potential in traditional handicraft and preserving local traditions for future generation.
Participants will also familiarize with latest trends in designing of goods.
