Serikov replaced Andrei Solouhin at this post, who left the company on 7 October 2009.

Igor Pilyugin, Unitel director-general, said: “Marat possesses strong management skills and serious work experience in sales system. His knowledge, accumulated at the large international companies, will be widely used in telecommunication sphere.”

He said one of the main tasks is to launch ordinary and affordable proposals, which can attract interests of consumers in competitive markets. Integration of Unitel and Buzton opens wide perspectives for high-technologic services at 3G base and optic fiber networks, he added. Serikov underlined that lifting services to new level will strengthen position of the company in mobile business and broadband Internet.

Marat Serikov was born on 21 July 1971 in Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan. He graduated Automated Management System Department of Tashkent State Technical University in 1993.

In 2000, he graduated International Economic Relations Department of Tashkent State Economic University on Banking Business direction. Two years later, he received diploma of economic science candidate.

From 1996 to 2000, he worked as director of IT Department of UZMACOM and he was responsible for management and strategy for development infrastructure in IT sector.

In 200, he moved to MARS LLC / EFFEM Inc. (Kazakhstan), where he worked as territorial sales manager, manager on development of national clients in Central Eurasia division.
