Malaysia expresses interest in developing cooperation with the Uzbekipaksanoat Association

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An online meeting was held in Kuala Lumpur between representatives of the Malaysian-Chinese International Trade Association (MACITA) and the leadership of the Uzbekipaksanoat Association with the participation of Uzbek entrepreneurs.

MACITA was established in 2011. The main function of the organization is to promote the export and import of products and services of Malaysian manufacturers to China and other countries. The Association works in cooperation with the Malaysian Ministry of International Trade and Industry and other government organizations.

At the meeting, the Malaysian side got acquainted with the program measures being implemented in Uzbekistan to develop the silk industry, in particular, the economic results achieved in 2022, export performance, export geography of more than 70 enterprises operating as part of the Uzbekipaksanoat association.

The parties discussed the development of a joint investment project in the field of sericulture and the export of silkworms and various silk products from our country to Malaysia, Dunyo news agency reported.

In turn, the Malaysian side expressed interest in developing cooperation with the Uzbekipaksanoat Association and its member enterprises, taking into account the best practices of our country in the field of silk production and processing.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on organizing the export of silkworm seeds from our country and considering the possibility of creating a joint venture for sericulture in Malaysia.
