Maiden DigiGirlz event to be held in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- DigiGirlz, an educational program of Microsoft, will be held in Uzbekistan for the first time to empower girls and attract them to technology sector. Interested girls should undergo registration will 6 April 2018.

DigiGirlz, a Microsoft YouthSpark program, gives middle and high school girls opportunities to learn about careers in technology, connect with Microsoft employees, and participate in hands-on computer and technology workshops.

On 10 April 2018, the first DigiGirlz educational program will be held at the premises of Inha University in Tashkent (IUT). The program will provide young girls with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the technology sector and new innovations.

The educational program will consist of two parts. In the first part, participants will take part in lectures of representatives of Microsoft Corporation and professionals, who broke stereotypes and made a career in the technology sector. These lectures will allow the girls to understand what to expect and what work in this area can provide.

The second part of DigiGirlz will consist of practical workshops, which will demonstrate to the girls that the IT sphere can be fascinating and interesting.

The program is open for girls at the age of 12-14 (junior group) and 15-17 (senior group). Interested girls should undergo registration for DigiGirlz event till 6 April 2018 via digigirlz.uz website. The number of seats is limited (30 people for each age category can participate in the event). On 7-8 April, 2018, registered participants will take part in preliminary mandatory workshops.

The event is supported by the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Mininfocom). The organizers of DigiGirlz are Microsoft Corporation, Inha University in Tashkent, Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center, a joint project of the Mininfocom and UNDP “Public Administration Reforms and Digital Transformation”, as well as SuperDispatch.
