Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution "On the establishment of the Mahalla Support Fund under the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan."

Under the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, a Mahalla Support Fund is being created. Its chairman will be the Chairman of Jokargy Kenesa.

This year, the Ministry of Finance will send 500 million soums (226 billion soums in total) to each of the 452 gatherings of citizens of mahallas of Karakalpakstan.

Also, the Fund will be allocated 228 billion soums to encourage initiative citizens, street elders and house committees in mahallas who have contributed to crime prevention and improvement of the mahalla.

The following procedure for allocating funds from the Fund has been established:

projects to solve the problems of the territories are formed by the chairmen of mahallas together with the assistants of khokims with a generalization of the proposals and recommendations of residents;

The Supervisory Board of the Fund reviews projects within 5 days and makes decisions on the allocation of funds;

to finance projects formed and managed by the chairmen of mahallas, a separate account is opened for each gathering of citizens of the mahalla;

the processes related to the implementation of projects, including the holding of competitive (tender) bidding for the purchase of goods (works, services), as well as payment and acceptance of the work performed, are carried out by the chairmen of the gatherings of citizens of mahallas.
