Lukoil Uzbekistan launches modern workers’ town at Kandym field
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Lukoil Uzbekistan, a project operator of Russia’s Lukoil in Uzbekistan, launched a modern workers’ town at Kandym field in Karakul district of Bukhara region, the company said.

Artesian wells have been accomplished along with completion of the workers’ town construction to provide the settlement with uninterrupted water supply. The cost of construction of these objects, erected by the Uzbek contractor – Kashkadarya production construction and assemblage organization – has comprised nearly US$4.3 million.

“Built in a rather short period of time in difficult climatic and natural conditions, the new workers’ town meets all the requirements of residential complex exploitation,” said Anatoly Lobanov, Deputy Director General of LUKOIL Uzbekistan, at the opening ceremony.

The settlement is intended for living of the Operator personnel engaged in the construction of Kandym gas processing plant objects, as well as workers of maintenance and security services.

The new town will host up to 102 people at one shift. It has all necessary buildings and constructions, including hostels, dining room, first-aid post, laundry, parking garage and auxiliary objects (canalization, water supply system, etc.).
