Lukoil to postpone gas production at Southern-Western Gissar
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russian oil company LUKOIL will start natural gas production within the Gissar project in Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan in 2012, the annual report of the company said.

Lukoil acquired SNG Holdings Ltd., including Soyuzneftegaz Vostok Limited, participant of the product-sharing agreement (PSA) on development of southern-western Gissar and Ustyurt region in Uzbekistan. The sum of the deal was US$580 million.

Uzbekneftegaz is authorized state body within the agreement. The PSA was inked on 23 January 2007 with the term of 36 years. It entered into force on 23 April 2007. The Uzbek side will receive from 55% to 80% of gas from the project based on its profitability. It is expected that the Russian company will invest up to US$2 billion to Gissar project.

There are seven fields in the contract area of Southern-Western Gissar – the Jargkurgan-Yangi Kyzylch, Gumbulak, Amanata, Pachkamar and Adamtash gas condensate field and Sourtherk Kyzylbayrak gas condensate and Koshkuduk oil fields.

Geological reserves of the fields on C1 category estimated at 100 billion cubic meters of gas and about 6 million tones of liquid hydrocarbons (oil and gas condensate).

Forecasted the volume of production at the contract territory is about 3 billion cubic meters of gas and over 300,000 tonnes of liquid hydrocarbons a year.
