Lonely elderly people to undergo medical examinations at Inson centers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On additional measures to ensure the rights of the population to social protection and the provision of state social assistance and services” was adopted, Norma reports.

The document establishes that:

single persons in need of outside care, as well as lonely elderly persons and persons with disabilities, undergo an in-depth medical examination at least once a year according to a schedule approved by the Inson social service centers;

social workers are given the authority to accept applications for pensions and financial assistance to children from low-income families.

From 1 January 2024, cases of caring for a person with a group I disability or a child with a disability under the age of 18, as well as elderly people aged 80 years and older who need outside care based on the conclusion of a medical institution, will be studied by social workers at least once a year. In this case, the analysis data will be reflected in the “Unified National Social Protection” information system.

Starting from the 2024/2025 academic year, social workers who won the regional stage of the competition “The Most Active Social Worker”, conducted by the National Agency for Social Protection of the Population, will be accepted for paid contract training at state higher educational institutions in the specialty “Social work”.

From 1 July 2024, a unified system for recording financial assistance and other social services will be launched. Social payments for each citizen (family) and benefits, including subsidies, services and assistance, are registered in the Social Protection IS.

National Social Protection Agency:

from 1 November 2023, a system of providing psychological assistance to persons who find themselves in difficult life situations will be introduced in the district (city) social service centers “Inson”;

until 15 November 2023, measures will be taken to locate non-governmental non-profit organizations in the field of social protection of the population in buildings and structures owned by organizations included in the Agency system, if necessary, on the basis of the right of free use;

until 1 December 2023, based on the results of a medical and social examination, a person with a disability will be provided with information about possible types of work activity and working conditions;

Before 1 January 2024, a “Helpline” number will be launched, intended for the prompt consideration of requests from socially vulnerable segments of the population.
