Loans to be allocated for the implementation of projects to introduce water-saving irrigation technologies

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Presidential Resolution “On measures to improve the water resources management system and increase the efficiency of their use at the grassroots” was adopted.

According to the Resolution:

- payments for water supply services to agricultural producers by water management organizations are canceled;

- on the basis of the district irrigation departments (Kuvasay city) and specialized services of the Ministry of Water Resources, state institutions “Suv etkazib beris hizmati” will be created.

The heads of the Water Supply Services report to the district Kengashes of people’s deputies on the work done twice a year.
40 percent of the State Budget revenues from the tax for the use of water resources is used to finance the activities of the Water Supply Services.

From 2024:

- agricultural producers for the implementation of projects for the introduction of water-saving irrigation technologies through the suvkredit.uz platform are allocated loans for a period of 5 years, at a rate of 14 percent per annum, with a 2-year grace period;

- subsidies to reimburse part of the costs of introducing water-saving irrigation technologies are provided to agricultural producers in full in the same year in which these technologies were introduced.

Projects for the introduction of water-saving irrigation technologies in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region are covered by the State budget in a portion exceeding 10 percent of the interest rate on loans provided by commercial banks in national currency.

When organizing new gardens, vineyards and other perennial plantings on irrigated lands, as well as creating lightweight greenhouses, conclusions are issued by the Ministry of Agriculture only if water-saving irrigation technologies are introduced.
