Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — For the first time in Uzbekistan, a liver transplant surgery was successfully performed on a child with the involvement of Russian specialists.
The surgery took place at the National Center for Children’s Medicine, with a 15-year-old boy diagnosed with chronic liver failure and autoimmune hepatitis being the patient.
The operation was carried out in collaboration with the Moscow Academic Transplantation and Artificial Organs Center named after V.I. Shumakov.
The donor was the patient’s father, Kamoliddin Isroilov, who gave his son the gift of life.
The patient’s condition is stable, and he continues to receive necessary treatment under the supervision of doctors.
