Liberal-Democratic Party receives parliamentary majority
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Liberal-Democratic Party of Uzbekistan received 53 seats in the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan said.
People’s Democratic Party will be represented by 32 MPs and Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party of Uzbekistan – 31. Adolat Social Democratic Party got 19 places and Ecologic Movement of Uzbekistan – 15 seats.
The Central Election Commission said 33 MPs (22%) are women. It added that 31.3% of MPs were elected earlier to parliament.
The commission said 34 of MPs or 22% are lawyers and 37 or 24.7% are economists.
