Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- By Presidential Decree, changes and additions were made to the Decree “On measures to streamline the extraction of nonmetallic materials in reservoirs.”

According to the Decree, from 1 May 2024, an indefinite moratorium on the extraction of non-metallic materials in the bed of Syrdarya River will be introduced.

At the same time, liability for damage caused to nature as a result of illegal mining of non-metallic materials will be strengthened.

Measures will be taken to strengthen the banks of the Syrdarya River, restore and rehabilitate damaged lands in the coastal strips.
