Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights sent a letter to the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights expressing gratitude to the Government of Uzbekistan for a large-scale program to support events in connection with the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The letter welcomes the comprehensive Action Plan approved by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, with a focus on key actions that aim to fulfill Uzbekistan’s human rights obligations.

On behalf of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, gratitude is expressed to the Government of Uzbekistan for supporting the OHCHR invitation to join the campaign to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

OHCHR welcomes the efforts of Uzbekistan in the field of human rights education and the adoption of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Approval of the National Program for Human Rights Education in the Republic of Uzbekistan” and the Roadmap for its implementation. This is the key to continuing the efforts already made to promote human rights education in Uzbekistan,” the letter says.
