Legislators of Uzbekistan to adopt law on upbringing healthy youth
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In near future, legislators of Uzbekistan are planning to adopt new law directed at upbringing healthy and harmonically developed generation.

Parliament of Uzbekistan is planning to adopt law “On limiting spread and use of alcohol and tobacco products” in 2010. Legislators note that the law became important factor for formation of healthy generation, guarding them from pernicious habits.

Uzbekistan made important steps in this direction. Over 600 legal documents on protecting rights and interests of children and youth, strengthening of foundation of their harmonically development, were reviewed. After the review, some changes and amendments were introduced. In particular, Code on Administrative Responsibility was amended and it strengthened responsibility of heads of entertainment institutions and other officials for violation of set norms and avoiding attraction of under ages to criminal environment.

Besides, the changes and amendments to the law “On advertisement” also played great role in healthy development of youth. The changes and amendments fully banned advertisement of alcohol and tobacco products. The law was developed in line with the state programme “The Year of Harmonically Developed Generation” and target protection of youth, which makes up over 60% of population.

MPs underlined that it is only one document of large number of legislative acts, directed at protecting youth, which will be developed and adopted in near future in Uzbekistan. Uzbek President Islam Karimov, speaking at the ceremony dedicated to the 18th Anniversary of Constitution Day, underlined that all goals of Uzbekistan are linked with the youth, who possess modern professions and can took responsibility for future of the country.
