Senate said President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov submitted a draft law “On introduction changes and amendments to some legislative acts in Uzbekistan in connection with improvement of election legislation”.

The document envisages introduction of changes to article 77 of the Constitution of Uzbekistan. It is expected that seats in lower house of parliament of Uzbekistan will increase by 20.

At the same time, 135 MPs will be elected on territorial elections, while Environmental Movement of Uzbekistan will get 15 seats in Legislative Chamber as environment issues are important.
