Legislative Chamber considers several draft laws
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan held a session and considered over eleven issues, including nine draft laws, a press service of Legislative Chamber said.

MPs considered a draft law “On introduction of changes and amendments to articles 15 and 18 of the Law of Uzbekistan “On insurance activity”. The draft was passed in final reading and directed to Senate for approval.

The law was developed in order to improve Law “On insurance activity”. MPs noted that the draft law is importance for further development of insurance activity in Uzbekistan. The legislators said that the draft law will help to create clear and firm mechanisms of regulation of insurance activity in Uzbekistan, eliminate legal gaps, etc.

MPs also passed a draft law “On introduction of changes to article 4 of the Law “On natural monopolies” directed at state regulating inter-state cargo transportations via railroad with establishing maximal tariffs. The law will be directed to Senate for approval.

A draft law “On introduction of changes and amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan” was also considered by MPs. The law envisages to unify laws and create favourable conditions during inspection of business entities. The law is directed at creating favourable conditions for development of entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan.

MPs approved the concept of the law and passed in the first reading.

Legislators also discussed the draft law “On introduction of changes to Tax Code of Uzbekistan”. The draft law to harmonize articles and norms of the Code and clarifies norms on disputable situations between tax payers and state tax services. The document was approved in the first reading.

MPs also considered a draft law “On introduction of changes and amendments to article 103 of Economic Procedural Code of Uzbekistan”, which is aimed at adopting mechanisms on levying debts for communal services and utilities. MPs passed the law in the first reading.
