Legal services centers have issued more than 7.6 million legal opinions

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 May, the Ministry of Justice held a press conference at the National Press Center of Uzbekistan on the topic “Implemented reforms in the field of legal services and future prospects for the industry.” 

During the press conference, it was noted that over the past period a number of works have been carried out to ensure the rule of law and legality in the activities of government bodies and organizations of our country, in particular, the electronic system “Yurist-adliya” was created by converting all information about employees of legal services in electronic form.

During 2023, in the course of coordinating the activities of the legal service throughout the republic, the appointment of 814 candidates for positions as employees of legal services of state bodies and organizations was agreed upon, 438 employees of legal services were certified, and internships in the justice authorities were provided for 130 persons appointed for the first time to the position of employee of the legal service of state bodies and organizations.

Also, special titles were awarded to 383 legal advisers.

In addition, the procedure for certifying legal service employees has been completely digitized, and the issued certificates have been converted into electronic form.

At the press conference, special attention was paid to the activities of centers for the provision of legal services.

In particular, an electronic system “E-huquqshunos” has been created to transfer into electronic form the processes of conducting legal examination and accepting projects sent to the centers of documents of government departments that provide legal services, office work has been completely digitized and paperwork has been eliminated.

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-173 dated March 18, 2022 “On additional measures to further expand the activities of centers for the provision of legal services”, a procedure has been introduced for the provision of legal services to district (city) divisions of government bodies and organizations, state secondary schools schools, preschool educational organizations, multidisciplinary central and family clinics in all regions and cities of the republic that are not provided with legal services.

Since 2022, the centers have provided 21,255 legal services to government bodies and organizations, and in 2023 the number of organizations served reached 21,887.

In particular, in 2023, after receiving a positive conclusion from the Centers, 7,685,811 documents of state bodies of a legal nature were accepted.

As a result of the formation of the Centers, the cancellation of legal documents of state bodies by the prosecutor's office and judicial authorities decreased by 99 percent.

At the press conference, responsible employees of the Ministry answered questions from participants, and it was also noted that it is planned to take appropriate measures to further increase the coverage of the Centers.

For information: a draft resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to further expand the coverage of centers for the provision of legal services” has been developed and submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers.

In particular, the main goal of developing this project is to ensure the provision of qualified legal services to other government departments at the district (city) level that do not have a legal service.
