Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan issued a resolution “On improvement of order of delivering, placing and storing vehicles, arrested for violation of legislation, at local parking sites” on 25 May 2011.

The document has adopted to ensure legality of delivering, placing and storing vehicles, arrested for violation of legislation, at local parking sites, adhering to sanitary and anti-fire rules, setting requirements to storage places, etc.

According to the resolution, from 1 September 2011, the storage of vehicles, arrested by authorized bodies in line with the legislation, will be carried out by legal entities, selected on competitive basis by local authorities.

Legal entities, selected on competitive basis to render services on storing cars, will ensure transportation of arrested cars to parking sites on request of the authorized state body.

The document said that the fee for transportation and storage services will be set by local administration in places in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan.

The government ordered local administrations and Ministry of Finance to agree the fee for transportation and storage services within a month. The bodies were ordered to select legal entities, rendering transportation and storage services, within two months.

The document said that legal entities will receive vehicles 24 hours and will provide access to owners or drivers of vehicle to automobile only with permission of the body, which adopted decision to arrest the car.

The cars released to their owners or drivers after written permission of the authorized body and payment of services on delivery and storage of vehicles.

Damage to vehicle and its property, caused during transportation or storage, will be compensated in line with the legislation.
