Leapmotor disputes C16 testing results in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chinese automaker Leapmotor has commented on the suspension of the certification process for its vehicles in Uzbekistan. In an official statement posted on the Weibo social network, the company expressed disagreement with the results of the C16 model's testing.

"The circumstances of sending the vehicle for testing and the specific conditions under which the tests were conducted are unknown to us, so we reserve the right to disagree with the testing results," the company stated.

It was noted that the vehicle sent for certification was not provided by the manufacturer itself.

As a result, Leapmotor intends to resolve the situation in collaboration with the Uzbek side and initiate retesting.

It is recalled that in early April, Uzbekistan suspended the certification of Leapmotor vehicles after the C16 model failed its testing.

The Uzbekistan Technical Regulation Control Inspection temporarily halted the acceptance of applications for the certification of the Chinese brand Leapmotor's passenger vehicles.

On 28 March, Euro Prof Test sent a notification to the Agency for Technical Regulation regarding issues identified during the testing of the Leapmotor C16 vehicle. A discrepancy was found regarding the level of broadband electromagnetic interference.

The violation was discovered in one vehicle (its VIN number was mentioned in the letter). The agency recommended suspending the acceptance of certification applications for all Leapmotor vehicles until the issue is resolved, citing concerns that electromagnetic interference could lead to system failures.
