Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 7 June, during a telephone conversation, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, exchanged warm greetings on the occasion of the sacred holiday of Kurban Hayit — Eid al-Adha, an important event for the entire Muslim community. The leaders wished peace, prosperity, and well-being to the friendly peoples of Uzbekistan and Pakistan.

During the conversation, they discussed the results of the practical implementation of agreements reached during the historic visit of the Pakistani Prime Minister to Uzbekistan in February of this year. They noted steady progress in strengthening the strategic partnership, as well as increased contacts and exchanges at various levels.

Special attention was given to the significant growth in mutual trade volumes and freight transportation, along with the increased frequency of direct flights between the two countries. Joint projects continue to be implemented in the pharmaceutical, agricultural, textile, and logistics sectors. Additionally, trade houses have been established in Lahore and Karachi to promote the development of bilateral economic ties.
