Leaders of Uzbekistan and Hungary discuss multifaceted cooperation issues between the two countries

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 July, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban.

The negotiations took place within the framework of an informal summit of the Turkic States Organization held in Azerbaijan.

The leaders of the two countries discussed current issues of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary.

They expressed satisfaction with the sustainable development of strategic partnership and practical interaction between the countries.

Intensive contacts continue at all levels. In May, a successful meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission and a business forum took place in Tashkent.

Over the past years, trade turnover between the countries has almost doubled, and the number of joint projects and enterprises has increased. Direct air communication between Tashkent and Budapest has resumed since June 30.

Special attention was paid to accelerating the implementation of cooperative projects in industries such as industry, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, logistics, construction, and others.

The importance of preparing a new package of investment projects and holding a joint Forum of Regions in Kokand by the end of the year was emphasized.

Cooperation in the fields of education, culture, and sports has been intensified. The necessity of conducting mutual cultural events to bring the peoples of the two countries closer together was noted.

Views were also exchanged on current issues of cooperation within the Turkic States Organization and the European Union.
