Law enforcement agencies seize 11.2 kg of drugs from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Employees of the State Security Service (SSS) of Uzbekistan seized 11.2 kilograms of drugs from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The press service of the State Security Service reported this.

In Namangan region, State Security Service officers stopped and inspected the Nexia car, which was moving in the Chortok-Namangan direction. The passenger of the car, a resident of the Chortok region, was found by law enforcement officers to have 2 kilograms 47 grams of hashish. Another 4 kilograms 942 grams were seized from the detainee’s house. It was established that these drugs were delivered to Uzbekistan from Kyrgyzstan.

In Davlatabad district, during operational activities, a resident of Yangikurgan district was detained who was selling 1 kilogram 842 grams of hashish for US$14,000 to a resident of Namangan. He was detained while receiving $10,000 of the total amount. The investigation found that the drugs were delivered to Uzbekistan from Kyrgyzstan.

State Security Service officers also detained three residents of Urgut district of Samarkand region, who brought 936 grams of opium from Tajikistan. They were detained while delivering the opium to the buyer. During the operation, another accomplice from Urgut district was also detained.

State Security Service officers in Fergana region detained a resident of the city of Kuvasoy, who was selling 950 grams of hashish to another resident of Kuvasoy for US$6,000. The drugs were imported from Tajikistan. Another resident of Kuvasoy was also arrested, who was selling 492 grams of hashish from Tajikistan for 75 million soums.

At the moment, criminal cases have been initiated against all detained persons, and preventive measures in the form of imprisonment have been applied against them.
