Lavrov rejected political games in the idea of creating a gas union

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that there are no plans to play any geopolitical game in the idea of creating a so-called "gas union", including Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

“Analysts, especially in the West, immediately began to say that this is some kind of political or geopolitical “game”. There is no “game” here,” the minister explained.

According to him, the countries are interested in ensuring gas supply, taking into account seasonal peaks in consumption, was not violated.

Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia’s proposal for a "gas union" to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan has no political aspects, it is only about coordinating commercial interests. According to the Kremlin spokesman, Moscow would like to coordinate actions in the commercial interests of states.
