Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24-27 August 2023, Tashkent hosted the CAREC Regional Startup Bootcamp, where startups from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan were brought together to promote innovation and develop cross-border cooperation.

The bootcamp was held under the theme "Inspiring Innovation, Transforming Communities", which started on 21 August in Astana. The program was organized jointly with the innovation centers IT-Park of Uzbekistan, Astana Hub in Kazakhstan, and the Next Step Innovation Center in Azerbaijan.

Kanokpan Lao-Araya, ADB Country Manager for Uzbekistan, said at a meeting with bootcamp participants, “The CAREC Regional Startup Camp represents our unwavering commitment to building a supportive ecosystem that takes startups to new heights and maximizes their potential. It also creates a unique opportunity to develop regional cooperation and forge partnerships that transcend borders.”

The bootcamp hosts a series of comprehensive workshops in each of the three participating countries, covering critical aspects of startup development such as market analysis, client development, legal aspects, and fundraising strategies. Visiting innovation centers, accelerators and investor networks further enriches the participants’ experience.

Special attention was paid to pitching sessions and mentoring, providing startups with a platform to develop their presentation and public speaking skills, as well as the opportunity to receive feedback from experienced mentors and industry experts.

The CAREC Region Regional Startup Bootcamp is an initiative of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the CAREC Program, and the Korea e-Asia and Knowledge Partnership Fund (EAKPF) to develop the startup ecosystem and innovation in the CAREC region.
