Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Marakand Logair, part of the investment and industrial group SEG Enera, will open the largest multimodal transport and logistics center in Samarkand region, called "Logopark Samarkand." The opening is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025.
Construction of this world-class logistics park began in February of this year. The center, with an area of over 40,000 square meters, is designed to house products from leading international and local e-commerce, distribution, manufacturing, and logistics companies.
The complex will include facilities with all types of storage temperature regimes, as well as a wide range of auxiliary services and amenities.
Marakand Logair has already started signing contracts for organizing warehouse activities and leasing space.
"In Samarkand region, considering the dynamic growth rates of both domestic and international trade, there is a significant unmet demand for modern warehouse space. We are ready to offer potential clients dry, cold, and bonded warehouses for long-term storage of imported goods without customs clearance. We believe that the center’s services will help Uzbekistan’s manufacturers sell their products both domestically and abroad," said Ikrom Yadgarov, General Director of Marakand Logair.
The new logistics center is expected to significantly reduce supply chains and their durations, as well as increase the flexibility of cargo transportation, noted SEG Enera.
"Building the logistics park is a new, highly promising, and logical business direction for our group. The logistics center is strategically located on the main highway of the Republic of Uzbekistan (M-37), adjacent to Samarkand International Airport, which is managed by another of our subsidiaries, Air Marakanda. Together, this creates a significant synergistic effect – we can offer our clients a comprehensive transport and logistics cluster and advantageous service conditions," emphasized Dmitry Kochiev, SEG Enera’s M&A Director.
It is noteworthy that SEG Enera is currently developing a range of investment projects in Samarkand region. In addition to the already operational airport and the Silk Road Samarkand tourist complex, the group is reconstructing the Ferkensko phosphate fertilizer plant. Moreover, the company is completing the construction of the Samarkand International Technological University campus.
