Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The construction of a large-scale tourist and recreational complex on the territory of the rowing canal has begun in Samarkand region. The official start ceremony of the construction took place on 18 September.
It is planned to allocate 360 hectares of land for the complex, it is planned to build a congress center, five-, four- and three-star hotels, alleys, pools, artificial islands, restaurants and other tourist facilities on 80 hectares. They also plan to install facilities with a filtering system for incoming water and create green spaces throughout the complex.
At the same time, the functionality of the rowing canal will remain unchanged; it is planned to hold international tournaments and competitions in the constructed complex.
It should be noted that the number of tourists visiting Samarkand is increasing every year, among which are both local and foreign guests. The region itself is home to about four million inhabitants, who will also have the opportunity to spend a pleasant holiday with their family on the territory of the rowing canal.
