Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures for the construction of the city of New Tashkent" was adopted, the Ministry of Justice reports.

According to the resolution, the Directorate for the construction of the city of New Tashkent under the Cabinet of Ministers will be created in the form of a state institution.

Accordingly, the post of Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services - Director of the Construction Directorate of the city of New Tashkent will be introduced.

Land plots for business and urban planning activities, including the construction of multi-apartment residential buildings, industrial, commercial and service facilities, are sold or leased through auctions on the E-auksion electronic trading platform in accordance with the decision of the Coordinating Council.

According to the resolution, until 1 January 2027, the Directorate, investors, general design and general contractors are exempt from paying customs duties for construction machinery, equipment, components and spare parts imported from abroad that are not produced in Uzbekistan.
