Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has introduced a temporary restriction on the export of cash foreign currency from the country. This was reported by the press service of the government of the republic.

“A temporary ban has been established on the export of cash foreign currency from the Kyrgyz Republic until the relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers is adopted. The corresponding decision was signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov in order to ensure financial and economic security, stabilize the situation in the domestic foreign exchange market, and protect national interests,” the statement says.

According to the press service, non-residents and foreign citizens are allowed to take out of the republic no more than US$5,000 in cash, and residents and citizens of Kyrgyzstan - no more than US$10,000.

“In the event that residents and citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic export cash US dollars in an amount exceeding US$10,000, a payment of 10% of the amount exceeding the established limit is charged,” the message says.
