Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov signed a law ratifying the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of Uzbekistan on cooperation in the field of prevention and response to emergency situations.

This intergovernmental agreement was signed during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan in January 2023. The law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on 29 November 2023.

Under the agreement, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will cooperate in the field of preventing and eliminating emergency situations and reducing the risk of natural disasters. The countries will provide mutual assistance in eliminating the consequences of natural and man-made emergencies.

The agreement also provides an opportunity to exchange experience, information and technology, as well as to train specialists in the field of emergency management in educational institutions of both countries.

It also stipulates the implementation of joint projects in the field of protecting the population and territories from natural and man-made emergencies for the benefit of the people of the two countries.
