Kyrgyzgas to transfer US$2.8m to Uzbekistan for gas
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Kyrgyzgas OJSC plans to transfer part of its debt to Uzbekistan for consumed natural gas, 24.kg news agency reported.

The agency said Kyrgyzgas will transfer US$2.8 million to the Uzbek gas supplier. Debt of Kyrgyzstan for Uzbek gas made up US$2 million, taking into account current volumes of consumed natural gas.

The company said that it will pay other part of debt as soon as it receives payments for natural gas from consumers.

Uzbekistan refused to discuss natural gas supplies to Kyrgyzstan for 2010 if the Kyrgyz side did not pay US$19million debt. On 24 September 2009, the Uzbek side suspended gas supplies to southern Kyrgyzstan.

During the talks, Kyrgyzgas achieved agreement to pay its debt in installments by 1 December 2009.
