Uzbekistan 24/08/2009 Kyrgyz leader congratulates Uzbek president on Independence Day
Uzbek President Islam Karimov and Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiev
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiev congratulated his Uzbek counterpart Islam Karimov with the Independence Day of Uzbekistan, which is marked on 1 September.

“Accept my sincere congratulations on the occasion a national holiday of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Independence Day”, the message reads.

Kyrgyz leader said in his message that Kyrgyzstan watches brotherly Uzbekistan’s rapid development and achievements with great interest. “Thanks to wise and long-sighted policy of the country’s leadership, Uzbekistan has occupied a worthy place in the world community in the years of independence by gradually implementing its own development model and moving forward through the path of comprehensive political and socio-economic changes”, the message said.

“Traditionally neighbourly and time-tested relations between our peoples, who have been living in peace and accord over centuries, predetermined the need to gradually develop mutually beneficial partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in the future in the spirit of an accord on everlasting friendship.

“Taking the opportunity, I also want to congratulate you, dear Islam Abduganiyevich, and the brotherly Uzbek people on the 2,200th anniversary of Tashkent, which naturally combines historic and cultural heritage of the past and achievements of modern Uzbekistan, and is rightly considered as one of the most beautiful cities of Central Asia and in the world as a whole”, Kyrgyz leader said.

“Dear Islam Abduganiyevich, let me wish you sound health and success in state activities and to the brotherly Uzbek people - well-being and prosperity”, the message reads.
