Present at the event were Sok Myong Son, chairman of the International United Confederation of Koreans, Jo Yun Hae, chairman of the Commonwealth of Independent States Regional Headquarters for Implementing the 15 June Joint Declaration, and other officials and Koreans in Uzbekistan.

The DPRK ambassador to Uzbekistan and staff members of the DPRK embassy were among those present on invitation.

The full texts of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 declaration were read out and speeches were made at the event.

Referring to the great achievements made in the inter-Korean relations and the movement for the reunification of the country after the publication of the 15 June joint declaration, the speakers said this is the fruition of the outstanding leadership of Kim Jong Il.

All Koreans who love the country and the nation should pool their will and efforts under the banner of "By our nation itself" no matter where they are and no matter what they do and turn out in the drive for the common prosperity and development of the nation, they stressed.
