Korean Auto Parts Makers Explore Uzbekistan Localization Deals

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Eleven South Korean auto parts manufacturers have toured Uzbekistan's automotive localization hub, signaling fresh appetite for production partnerships in a market that has made industrial self-sufficiency a strategic priority.

The visit took place on the sidelines of the 2026 Autoparts Exhibition and Biz-Meeting in Tashkent, where representatives of leading Korean automotive component producers called on the Localization Support Center under JSC Uzavtosanoat.

The delegation received a briefing on the center's operations, ongoing localization measures in the automotive sector, production cooperation frameworks, and support mechanisms available to investment and industrial projects. Particular attention was given to showcasing samples of locally produced auto components and raw materials manufactured by Uzbek enterprises, alongside a presentation of domestic companies' production capabilities and the prospects for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.

The Korean companies represented a broad cross-section of the supply chain — spanning engine components, braking systems, filters, steering mechanisms, suspension elements, and other auto parts. Firms in attendance included Autotop Co., Ltd., Boram Auto Co., Ltd., Carstation (JK Lube), D Only Automotive Co., Ltd., Drew C&C Co., Ltd., Eslink, Hansae Mobility Turan Co., Ltd., June Heung Filter, Korea Oil Seal Co., Ltd., Miral J&P Co., Ltd., and SJ Tech.

The visit also included a dedicated presentation on Uzavtosanoat and its portfolio of enterprises, covering industrial cooperation, new project pipelines, localization depth targets, and the introduction of advanced manufacturing technologies.

Both sides concluded by confirming their intent to expand cooperation between Uzbekistan's and South Korea's automotive industries, and to develop new joint projects and localization opportunities.

The meeting adds momentum to Uzbekistan's broader push to deepen its automotive supply chain, reduce import dependency, and attract foreign technology partners to co-produce components domestically — a drive that has already drawn sustained Korean interest given the long-standing presence of GM and Kia-affiliated production in the country.
