KOICA Uzbekistan office held a Knowledge Sharing Conference at Uzbekistan State World Languages University regarding Women’s Right in Education and Career.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18 April, the KOICA Uzbekistan office held a Knowledge Sharing Program at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University. The Knowledge Sharing Program is an event where trainees who have graduated from the KOICA Scholarship Program convey the knowledge they acquired in Korea to the public in Uzbekistan. 

At this event, Ms. Iroda Malikova, a graduated of Yonsei University in Korea with a master's degree in Women's Rural Development, participated as a presenter. She shared her experiences and insights gained from her time in Korea. Since the majority of participants were female students, she also emphasized the importance of career and education in women’s lives. The event attracted over 130 students, and many of them showed their interest and passion during the Q&A session.

The University also showed significant interest in the event. Mr. Djurayev Dilshod, the Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Philology, Mr. Turubov Jahongir, the Deputy Dean, Ms. Azimova Parizod, an Advisor Dean for Gender Equality, Mr. Ji Moon Gun, the Head of Korean Philology Department participated.

Since 1992, approximately 170 Uzbekistan officials have obtained master's or doctoral degrees through KOICA's Scholarship Program, and around 2,300 officials have participated in KOICA's short-term training program. In the future continually, a variety of exchanges will be held between Korea and Uzbekistan to foster mutual interaction.
