KOICA to Invest US$14M in IT Education in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) will implement a project in Uzbekistan aimed at developing the country’s IT education ecosystem, with a total budget of US$14 million. The initiative is designed to enhance youth employment and foster entrepreneurial skills in the digital sector.
The project предусматривает системное обучение современным ИТ-направлениям over a four-year period. The program includes areas such as artificial intelligence, prompt engineering, programming, the Internet of Things, and online marketing.
A strong focus is placed on capacity building. Within the framework of the initiative, 500 specialists and IT educators are expected to undergo advanced training. In addition, startup incubation programs will be launched with the involvement of leading experts from South Korea.
The infrastructure component of the project will span from 2026 to 2032. During this period, two modern IT hubs are planned to be established in Nukus and Karshi, along with the construction and تجهیز of 14 IT centers across seven regions of the country.
